Homelessness in New York City continues to be a major problem.  Of those affected, none are more at risk than our older population with nowhere to call home. For the past 20 years, Moravian Open Door has been helping the older homeless make the transition from homelessness to appropriate, permanent housing and independence. Each step towards this success is made possible because MOD is able to provide: A clean, safe environment in which to set short-term life goals. Personalized service plans and guidance in regaining stability and independence. Coaching on life skills requirements to attain goals. Case worker advocacy and support in finding and interviewing for permanent housing. Referrals and assistance to required support networks. All of us at MOD are committed to this work and to making a difference for our homeless older population.
