MOD has two full-time staff—an Executive Director and Facility Manager—as well as a breakfast cook and part-time night clerk. Interns and volunteers assist the staff with other services such as custodial work, painting and minor repairs, collecting material gifts, and providing special meals and celebrations.

Susan Attzs-Mendoza

Executive Director Susan Attzs-Mendoza

Susan holds an Advanced Level Certificate from the University of Cambridge and is a graduate of the Institute for Not-for-Profit Management at the Columbia Graduate School of Business. She holds certifications in Leadership, Fundraising and Proposal Writing and is a trained and successful Special Events Coordinator. She has over twenty years of non-profit management experience. In April 2007, Susan received the “Woman of Excellence” award in recognition of her sacrificial and dedicated service to the disabled community. 

Michael Ralling

Facility Manager Michael Ralling, AA

Michael holds an Associate in Arts degree from Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, New York. He has participated in a number of human services training programs and workshops in the following areas: group counseling, conflict resolution, office management and technology, and dealing with substance use and chemical dependency. He also has completed courses at NYC Tech on skills for building supers.

Maureen Panes

Cook Maureen Panes

Maureen “Moe” Panes graduated in 1992 from the Art Institute of New York with a certificate in Culinary Arts. She has several years of on-going experience preparing, cooking and serving healthy, nutritious meals for large and small groups of individuals in both facility and private settings. She prepares breakfast five days a week for MOD’s clients, providing variety and accommodating special health conditions.

For the beautiful Moravians – Some people say that they care about homeless people but I know that you Moravians really do! The Moravian house has helped me through the worst time of my life and I am exceedingly and truly thankful to each and every one of you. I am grateful forever.
